I admit – I’ve been on hiatus. It’s been 6 months since my last podcast and post, Episode 111 – 5 Ways to Keep Your Online Content Growing. In that episode I talk about being a new mom and how much of a struggle it is to keep building online content, and I shared some ways to do it.

Healing During My Hiatus:

Coming Back from a Hiatus

Coming back from a my hiatus includes weight training at the gym 3x a week.

I’ve been going through a healing process, coming back from a pretty trying pregnancy and delivery, and have been slowly getting my health back in order. If you didn’t already know, I have MS, and I’m pretty candid about it. It makes me who I am, and definitely an expert on getting things done as quickly and efficiently as possible with little effort! It’s totally under control, no worries, and now I’ve got the best thing that ever happened to me right by my side every day, motivating me to be stronger and take the best care of my self as I can. I’m pretty transparent about my health condition and try not to let it get in the way by taking precautions and knowing my limits. The internet was one of the best things that ever happened to my career.

So now I sit here writing this blog post, which will become a podcast and probably a video, but I’m focusing on one step at a time. Truth is, I’m taking advantage of my son’s nice afternoon nap after an 8 ounce sippy cup of warm milk.

Say WOW Marketing:

I have pretty much been out of commission with Say WOW Marketing, not taking on any new clients, posting on my blog, podcasting, you name it. I have been caring for my little boy (who just turned one. Yay!). I was stunned by the comments that continued to roll in on certain videos of mine on YouTube. It was my online content that I continuously built that saved me during a time of hiatus. I wasn’t dead in the water, I was still present and very much alive on the internet.
That was my true lesson of the value of online content. You have to build it slowly, making sure everything is clearly branded, making sure that people get your message, and you deliver VALUE.
Because I had built quite a bit of VALUE and it was still RELEVANT, people continued to download my videos, listen to my podcasts and check me out on Facebook. I couldn’t believe everyday when people were viewing my Facebook page, and I just didn’t have the time or the mindset to create new content.

MORAL:
Deliver value and be relevant by understanding what is most important to people. Deliver that as online content on the web, in various formats for however your audience is using media, and you will have a lot easier time coming back from a hiatus. And I Am!
