Sunshine Prosthetics & Orthotics, Wayne NJ opened its doors in 2013 as a hi-tech facility for serving clients with prosthetic and orthotic needs. I have been there with the owner, Brooke Artesi, CP, LPO since the beginning as a photographer for events, the corporate interiors projects, social media, PR and website design and development.
GOAL: As a new business, the goal was to inform and educate people on the services of Sunshine Prosthetics & Orthotics.
STRATEGIES: With its new interior space, we wanted to carryover the branded look to all media platforms and open up social media profiles for the business. We set up Facebook, Google+, Twitter and a YouTube Channel. Because the owner, Brooke Artesi, is a very sports-active amputee, photos of events she attends and participates in are used to fill content on the website and Facebook and Google+ pages. In designing the website, we knew that there were many keywords which could be searched for to find a prosthetist or orthotist and wanted to enrich the SEO. The navigation is organized by type of device and the internal search further helps the visitor find what they are looking for. The site is rich with information, including a resource page with links to associations and organizations created to help people with disabilities (financial and social assistance), manufacturer websites to add another source of information, adaptive sports organizations, legislation groups and certification associations. Finally, to further encouragement of reaching potentials, a blog was added. The Inspirations blog is published bi-weekly, with stories of people with disabilities who have become role models.
OUTCOME: The new practice has a busy appointment book. Brooke has been interviewed and appeared as feature articles in several publications. The mayor attended her open house. The Facebook page is active, we’ve found that large photos and videos are shared and liked.
